MANUAL THERAPY
• Cranial-Sacral Therapy

This advanced manual therapy technique involves integration of motion through the spine from the head to the tailbone. This technique creates a calming, therapeutic effect for the patient as it enhances circulation and decreases pain and inflammation. It has been shown to be helpful in a multitude of ailments including chronic headaches, ringing in the ears, vertigo/dizziness, sinus issues, neck, shoulder and spine pain.

• Joint & Soft Tissue Mobilization
This technique involves mobilization, or movement of the joint surfaces and soft tissue connectors about the joints (ligaments and tendons). This is often used when joints have become less mobile due to scarring or adhesions from injuries.

• Muscle Energy Techniques
This technique involves active, directed use of small muscle contractions applied in specific patterns of motion. It can help restore more normal movements throughout the musculoskeletal system, thereby decreasing pain and inflammation.

• Strain/Counterstrain
With the ultimate goal of reducing strain in a pain pattern present in the tissues, a slow, gentle positioning of the injured area is used during this technique. As comfortable as it is often effective, some positions can be taught to the patient for long term use at home as needed.

MODALITIES/TREATMENT METHODS
• Ultrasound
High frequency sound waves are sound waves above the range that we can hear. The sound waves are applied to the body from the 'head' of an ultrasound machine. A gel is used to help the waves travel into the body rather than be reflected off the skin. Benefits of ultrasound can include:
• increased blood supply which promotes healing
• a pain killing effect which can reduce muscle spasm
• softening of fibrous tissues and scar tissue which are formed during healing

• Interferential (IFC)
This type of stimulation is characterized by the crossing of two electrical, independent frequencies that work together to effectively stimulate large impulse fibers. These frequencies interfere with the transmission of pain messages at the spinal cord level. Because of the frequency, the interferential wave meets low impedance when crossing the skin to enter the underlying tissue. This deep tissue penetration can be adjusted to stimulate parasympathetic nerve fibers for increased blood flow. Interferential therapy aids in circulation, and decreased complications and recovery time in post-op patients.

• Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
Used to stimulate muscle motor nerves, and prevent or reduce muscle atrophy usually experienced after surgeries or injuries. EMS helps to increase blood flow to muscles, with improving range of motion and muscle strength, as well as enhancing muscle endurance.

• Iontophoresis
Topical medication is propelled through the skin by an electric current. Used as an anti-inflammatory agent in pain management of acute and sub-acute soft tissue injuries.

• Phonophoresis
Topical ointments propelled through the skin by ultrasound. Usually prescribed for superficial inflammations such as elbow tendonitis.

Soul Personal Training is our training group that can help you achieve your goals!!

 THERAPUTIC EXERCISE & PERSONAL TRAINING
Our combination of Body Image Physical Therapy and Saddle Rock Fitness, together in one location with the same professional staff, makes us unique in the metro Denver area.

• Strength & Resistance Training
We can return you to a new level of fitness. Using such techniques as manual assistance, negative resistance, active recovery, and machines in the Nautilus and Free Motion line, we create programs that work for you, with your goals in mind. There are no redundant “cookie cutter” programs here. Most importantly, we make sure that each individual is using the equipment safely and properly. We also offer injury rehabilitation programs.

• Stabilization/Core Strengthening & Balance
Your core is more than just having “rock hard” abs. Your core is where all movement occurs, and is composed of the muscles in your low back, hips, pelvis, and abdomen. The shoulder and chest muscles also affect the core. Core strengthening involves all of the muscles in your trunk working effectively and in harmony. Stabilization and balance exercises are important for walking, running, and all athletic performances. A strong core helps your extremities (arms and legs) perform at their best. Our therapists and trainers can give you enjoyable exercises that seem more like fun than work, to help improve balance and stability.

• Aerobic Exercise/Cardio
“Unless it’s fun, it won’t get done! “Our trainers can customize individual aerobic programs for our members, to help you achieve your specific goals and have fun doing so. Aerobic exercise uses large muscle groups continuously and elevates the heart rate and breathing for a sustained period of time. We offer a variety of cardio options to make you sweat!

• Individualized programs
How can a timed circuit help you to achieve your individual goals? The answer is simple—it can’t. We design programs based on individual goals, both short term, and long term, and modify the programs accordingly as goals are achieved. Nobody has the same workout program, because no two people have identical fitness assessments, identical body types, and identical goals.

• Fitness Assessment
Using the five components of fitness, our trainers are able to determine your individual fitness level, enabling us to develop for you a customized program to attain your goals.
• Diet Analysis
Our trainers provide basic nutrition education. We can help you to make healthier food choices and improve your eating behaviors. Based on a diet analysis we can determine excesses and deficiencies within your diet and customize a weight loss or weight gain plan accordingly.
• Sport Specific Training
Need help training for a specific sport or event? Let us help you! We will develop a program specifically for you, which will allow you to meet your goals.
